What to Expect

The treatment process is a team effort, involving doctors, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and most importantly, you and your family. We will provide you with access to the information and skilled professional care needed to speed your recovery.

Diagnosis

After our treament team reviews your films, any additional tests, and the results of your diagnostic interview and your medical history, recommendations will be made for a treatment plan. You may also be asked to return for a second appointment.

Treatment Options

When we discuss treatment options with you, we will give you information about the benefits and risks and assist you in making a decision that is best for you. If surgery is an option, you will receive counseling about the procedure that is being recommended. Treatment options may include:

  • Physical or Occupational Therapy
  • Interventional Pain Management Techniques, such as Epidural Steroid Injections
  • Medications
  • Exercise and Conditioning Programs
  • Minimally Invasive Surgery
  • Microdiscectomy
  • Spinal Fusion
  • Vertebroplasty
  • Reconstructive Spinal Surgery

Medications

You may be given prescriptions and instructions for medication necessary for your treatment. If you have a problem with a medication or need a re-fill and are not planning an office visit, please call us during office hours so that we can assist you.

Prescription refills and requests should be made 2-3 days before your last dose by calling 417/885-3888 or by contacting your pharmacy.

Emergencies

If you have a medical emergency after office hours, please go to a hospital emergency room. Be sure to give the name of your physician from our clinic, so that the hospital emergency physician can contact us about your condition. The on-call physician can be contacted through the answering service at 417/885-3888.
