MU Clinical Building

CoxHealth, SNI Partner with University of Missouri for Neurosurgery Resident Rotations

By working with the experienced SNI surgeons, residents participating in these rotations will have the opportunity to develop surgical maturity and refine their leadership and managerial skills before completing the MU residency program. They will also be able to participate in clinical research and a clinical education course.

“We’re excited about this opportunity,” says Dr. Robert Strang, a neurosurgeon at SNSI. “We’re excited about the youthful energy the residents will bring to CoxHealth and SNSI, as well as the benefits this will offer our patients. This is a great opportunity to help expand each resident’s knowledge and expertise in the broad spectrum of medical comprehension and neurosurgical techniques.”

Each rotation will last 6 months. The residents who rotate through will be PGY 2 and PGY 4, (2nd and 4th year residents).

CoxHealth is Springfield’s only locally owned, not-for-profit health system. It is accredited by The DNV and distinguished as one of the nation’s Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Systems (2006-2016). CoxHealth and SNI entered into an exclusive partnership in Jan. 2011.
